PROFILE Mr. Terayama has worked for Miyoshi & Miyoshi since July 2004 as a vice-president until March 2005 and since then as a special adviser. He graduated with a degree in applied physics from Waseda University, and received a master’s degree in physics at the University of Tokyo’s Graduate School of Science, specializing in Optical Physics. From 1973 to July 2004, Mr. Terayama had worked at the Japan Patent Office where he held a number of positions including patent examiner, appeals examiner, director of patent examination divisions, deputy director-general of first patent examination department、director of first appeals examination division, and director-general of fourth patent examination department. Since April 2005, Mr. Terayama has been a professor at Doshisha Law School, and a professor at both Faculty of Law Doshisha University and Doshisha Business School, teaching Intellectual Property Law. He is a member of Japan Association of Industrial Property Law, International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property, and Doshisha Law Association.
